Running a grassroots campaign like ours truly takes a village, and your support means the world to me.

Hey John, it’s Becca!

This summer has been a big one – and a lot has happened.

I was named to the House Judiciary Committee where I have the opportunity to closely work on some of the most pressing issues facing our nation: gun violence prevention, antitrust laws, protecting constitutional and civil rights, and more.

On the House Oversight Committee, I’ve been focused on getting answers from the Postal Service and ensuring rural Vermonters can count on getting their mail. I also could not be silent about the GOP’s anti-trans rhetoric, which is fueling so much hatred and fear across the country. The tactic of scapegoating vulnerable populations for political gain is nothing new, and especially during Pride Month, it’s critical that our elected leaders hold extremists accountable.

Last week, as co-chair of the Equality Caucus, I proudly re-introduced The Equality Act — a bill that would exact federal protections to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity — in the House.

It’s the honor of my life to get to fight for Vermont values in DC – especially at a time when so many of the freedoms and principles that we hold dear are under attack.

In the face of increased scrutiny and national attention, we need to make sure we put up the strongest FEC report possible by hitting our $100,000 end-of-quarter goal. The good news is that we’re just under $2,000 short of reaching $100,000 – and I know we have the grassroots muscle to cross the finish line. Can you contribute $5 or more to our campaign before our end-of-quarter deadline this Friday? [[link removed]]

Fundraising is my least favorite part of this work, but it’s absolutely necessary in order to help me continue to travel the state and fight fiercely for our communities in Washington.

Running a grassroots campaign like ours truly takes a village, and your support means the world to me.

In gratitude,

Becca Balint
