Hey team – it’s Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear with a critical update.

I always knew this race would be tight, but recent polls are showing me in a dead heat with my opponent – Mitch McConnell’s protégé, Daniel Cameron.

Cameron is McConnell’s handpicked candidate for governor. And when you see his record, you’ll understand why: he’s an extremist that puts partisanship before doing his job, protecting our communities, or prioritizing our kids’ futures. We cannot let him reach the Governor’s Office.

But despite his record, the latest Republican poll shows this race tied – 47 - 47%. To win I’ll need grassroots supporters like you standing with me every step of the way. Please, will you split a gift of $3 or whatever you can afford between my campaign and the Democratic Governors Association? Donations made at critical moments like this help our team build the momentum we need to win on Election Day and help elect Democratic governors across the country. And as an added bonus, each and every donation to the DGA up to our $100,000 end-of-quarter goal will be triple-matched dollar for dollar.

Team, I’m the only incumbent Democratic governor on the ballot this fall, and the GOP is laser-focused on flipping Kentucky red. They want to send Daniel Cameron to the Governor’s Office by any means necessary, and they’ll use every trick in their playbook to do it.

But I don’t care how many attack ads they run against me. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done for Kentucky.

• We’ve grown the economy, adding tens of thousands of new jobs and delivering Kentucky’s lowest unemployment rate in history.
• We’ve defended access to healthcare for more than 400,000 Kentuckians.
• We’ve expanded voting rights across the Commonwealth.
• And throughout it all, I’ve never hesitated to use my veto power as a last line of defense against the worst of the far-right’s extreme agenda.

Team, I’ve been in tough fights before. In 2019, I beat my opponent, then Gov. Matt Bevin, by just 5,136 votes – a razor-thin margin. The pundits said we couldn’t win, but we overcame the odds with a huge victory – and that was all thanks to supporters like you.

Now, I’m asking you to believe in me once more. There’s no question that we have another uphill battle on our hands. Will you rush $3 before Friday at midnight to power my campaign and elect Democratic governors at this critical moment?
