In a major victory, the Supreme Court ruled yesterday in favor of free and fair elections in North Carolina.
Here’s the bottom line: independent state legislature theory is extreme and antithetical to the fundamental promise of checks and balances in this country. Our democracy is fragile, and I’m determined to do everything in my power to protect it.
