Serving as a Member of Congress is a full-time job, and so is running for re-election. Sara has a lot on her plate, from taking meetings and calls with the people she represents to drafting legislation and defending it on the House floor, attending her committee meetings, and coming up with tangible solutions to the problems we’re facing.
And then there’s the work that goes into running – bringing people into the electoral process for the very first time, talking to people in the community, and educating potential voters about their power to make a difference.
This is deep work that requires a ton of time and energy – and it’s why we send these fundraising emails. When we miss a goal, no matter how big or small, Sara has to put some of that work on the back burner so we can rebalance the budget and double down on our efforts to raise funds to support this work.
And when we miss a BIG goal with a deadline like the one we’re facing on Friday, there’s so much more at stake.
Low-performing fundraising results are enough to impact whether we win or lose next November.
