Team,

We're continuing to see the havoc that extremism causes.

Members of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus are throwing a temper tantrum because they didn't get their way in the debt ceiling deal that was already agreed to and passed.

Now, they're trying to unilaterally force spending cuts to key programs, and House Republicans are threatening to shut down the federal government if they don't get their way. They're willing to stop paying federal employees, suspend Social Security checks, and pause federal investments.

Last election, we kept an extremist from joining the ranks of GOP hardliners in the U.S. House by defeating Sarah Palin. But the work to reject extremism and find common-sense solutions continues both here in Alaska and in Washington.

When people's lives and livelihoods are at stake, we don't have patience for political games. Please, friend — support our work to make government work for all of us by contributing today → [[link removed]]
