House Republicans have unveiled a new tax-plan that would provide hundreds of billions of dollars in tax-breaks for giant corporations and for the wealthiest Americans.
Independent analysis of the proposal estimates that it would save the top 1% of Americans $28 billion in tax cuts just next year alone, with an average of $16,550 per person under the plan.
How much would this plan help working-families, you ask? Well, according to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a person in the bottom 20% would save just $40 from these proposed tax cuts.
This is outrageous, friends. Instead of prioritizing Americans who need help the most, the GOP is once again putting their wealthy donors above the interests of the country. That’s why Lori and House Democrats are fighting tooth and nail against this bill and other anti-worker proposals from Republicans in Congress.
