We’re in the final few days of our summer fundraiser, and I’m reaching out one last time to ask for your support. FAIR’s fiscal year ends June 30, which means what we’re able to raise during these next few days will set us up for the next several months.
We’re only about $1,500 short of our goal with three days to go.
I’ll be honest: The past two years haven’t been the best financially for FAIR—or for other independent, progressive publications, for that matter. We ended in the red last year and are expecting to do so again. We keep our expenses as bare-bones as possible, but like everyone, we’re facing rising prices.
Of course, much of this is just the natural ebb and flow of being a nonprofit. Donors’ generosity from years past has allowed us some wiggle room, to have a rough year or two without being in crisis. But we can’t afford a continued dip in revenue. We have to keep our momentum going, especially during the upcoming election year.
For as long as disinformation, corporate influence and political pandering exists, FAIR’s work will be essential. We can’t leave the powers that be unchecked. FAIR isn’t funded by advertisers, politicians or even large grants. We can’t rely on anything except the community we’ve built. You are all essential parts of this movement. Your donations, clicks and shares are what make our work possible.
To thank you for your support, we’re offering a gift for those who donate $35 or more!
War Made Invisible: How America Hides the Human Toll of Its Military Machine, by acclaimed journalist, political analyst and FAIR associate Norman Solomon, takes American media and political leaders to task for selectively concealing tragic consequences of war.
We highly recommend this essential and informative read, and think you will enjoy it as much as we did.
Thank you all for your steadfast support, and for being part of this community.
Sincerely,
Olivia Riggio
