Patriot,
I want to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
While you exchange flowers and chocolate with your loved ones, share this story that shows the power of relationships and love.
. . . and if you want to send me a special Valentine’s gift by donating to my campaign, I would LOVE it!
The legend of St. Valentine starts – like many stories – with the tyranny of government.
Roman Emperor Claudius II wanted better soldiers and believed that single men fought better than soldiers with wives and families.
To keep his ranks filled with the best warriors, Claudius banned young men from marrying.
But the decree from the Roman government couldn’t stop young lovers from vowing their faith and lives to one another.
In secret, they were married by a local priest named Valentine.
The priest defied the unjust decree from Claudius and on February 14th, 269, Valentine was put to death.
St. Valentine’s remains lay in Rome today with a crown of roses resting atop his brow.
Love is one VERY strong aspect of Liberty and it can’t be controlled or contained by government.
Love and Liberty will ALWAYS find a way, and there will always be men and women like St. Valentine willing to risk their lives for it.
And in the end, Emperor Claudius was wrong.
When you have something to fight for, a wife, husband, son, daughter, mother, father or simply a friend, you don’t give up. You fight like a lion protecting its pride.
I am a single woman, there were no chocolates on my pillow this morning and no flowers delivered to my door. But I’m still filled with love and passion because I unconditionally love our nation and what we stand for.
And I fight for it every day that I wake up so that we can enjoy the freedoms of Liberty and Love.
While it’s a bit selfish to request a Valentine’s Day gift, please send a donation to my campaign today, so I can keep fighting for you and all of the other Americans whom I love.
Thank you again for all that you do, and please enjoy this special day with those you love.
Sincerely,
Laura Loomer
