In addition to baseless calls to impeach someone—anyone, it seems, will do—and censuring Rep. Adam Schiff for doing his job, House Republicans also want to use congressional funding and oversight authority to expunge both of Donald Trump's impeachments.

Has the GOP solved any issues related to health care, public safety, or national security? No. Based on their actions, one can only conclude that nothing is more important than defending the twice-indicted, disgraced former president and punishing his perceived enemies.

Congress should be focused on ensuring our families and communities are thriving. These petty payback schemes only further distract away from real issues facing the American people. We deserve better.

Jack, on June 21, House Republicans voted to censure Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff. It was a naked act of political retribution for Schiff's efforts to maintain the rule of law by holding Donald Trump accountable for his many abuses of power.

Tell the GOP: Stop weaponizing Congress for political payback.

Republicans aren't using their power to address our housing crisis, bring down gas prices, or ensure our children are fed. Nope. Now that they have control of the House, they are using the power and purse strings of Congress to target and harass political foes.

Jim Jordan has turned the House Judiciary Committee into a three-ring circus. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert are fighting over who gets to impeach President Biden. Meanwhile, the "Weaponization of the Federal Government" subcommittee—formed by Republicans to prove the federal government has been persecuting conservatives—is being used to settle scores and showcase discredited conspiracy theories.

American taxpayers are funding these theatrics. It's our money, time and energy wasted with every crocodile tear the GOP slings during these frivolous subcommittees, investigations, hearings, amendments, and censures. It's an outrageous and insulting waste. Tell them to knock it off already.
