She’s a Democrat. I’ve been a Republican since I was 18.

Friend, I’m Amy’s husband, Erik. I wanted to send a quick note this Valentine’s Day to do what I can to help Amy in her mission to make sure this is Mitch’s last year in office. (And to remind you it’s not too late to go pick up flowers if you forgot.)

Amy and me

People often ask me what I think of Amy running for Senate. It’s simple: Even though I’m a registered Republican, I put my country over party, and I believe Mitch McConnell has come to embody the worst of our politics.

The way he’s grinding our democracy to a halt, pocketing special-interest cash while blocking common-sense bipartisan legislation, and even reveling in the cynicism, is disturbing to me as a veteran and civilian.

Let’s help Amy to step up and stop him.

One of the things I admire most about Amy is her determination and resilience—and I know she’s the one who can change the course of Kentucky and our country.

Let’s stop the damage McConnell is doing to our state and release the grip he has on the miners, farmers, teachers, tradesmen and all the hard working people of this state.

Kentuckians are tired of being ignored, left behind, and handed the same line of garbage. They are ready to put aside party preference to support Amy. I am biased, but I suspect I’m not the only Republican who thinks so.

I see up close how hard Amy is working, but we need your help to keep her momentum going. Since this is Valentine’s Day, will you help me support Amy and chip in now?

Thank you,
Erik Henderson
