Representative Adriano Espaillat to Welcome U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra to Health Roundtable
Visit to Highlight Success of Inflation Reduction Act and Tout Recruitment for Health Care Workforce
NEW YORK, NY – Thursday, June 29th, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will welcome U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra to his district for a tour of select health facilities and a roundtable discussion to highlight the ongoing success of the Inflation Reduction Act to constituents of New York's 13th congressional district.
The roundtable will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the New York Academy of Medicine, Presidents Gallery Room, located at 1216 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10029.
During the discussion, Rep. Espaillat and Secretary Becerra will provide an overview of the health provisions within the Inflation Reduction Act and discuss how impactful these changes will make throughout the district.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Ann Kurth, President of New York Academy of Medicine, and will include health care providers from NewYork Presbyterian, Boriken Neighborhood Health Center, NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, NYC Health + Hospitals, NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, and HHS.

Representative Espaillat is the first Dominican American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and his congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and the north-west Bronx. First elected to Congress in 2016, Representative Espaillat is serving his fourth term in Congress. Representative Espaillat currently serves as a member of the influential U.S. House Committee on Appropriations responsible for funding the federal government’s vital activities and serves as Ranking Member of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee of the committee during the 118th Congress.
