Friend – Nearly 3,000 (!!!) people have already signed our petition in favor of a stronger, more climate-focused Farm Bill. Will you add your name to keep the momentum going? [link removed]

Congress has until the end of September to reauthorize the Farm Bill, which directs hundreds of billions of dollars in agriculture and food programs.

The Farm Bill contains key opportunities for climate action, including expanding equity for BIPOC farmers, water and land conservation, and regenerative agriculture.

We need to protect critical provisions like these from getting cut from extremists in Congress.

That’s why we’re building support nationwide right now for Congress to pass a progressive Farm Bill with significant climate investments. Sign on to make your voice heard → [link removed]

Thanks for taking action, friend.

Subject: ⚠️ Some members of Congress are trying to cut climate investments

Friend, now is the time to be making massive investments in climate solutions, NOT cutting them back.

Every five years, the Farm Bill — a massive package directing hundreds of billions of federal dollars into agriculture and food programs — needs to be reauthorized in Congress.

It is an incredible opportunity to invest in climate solutions from water and land conservation, regenerative agriculture, sustainable forestry, and expanding equity for small and marginalized farmers.

But not everyone sees it that way.

Extremists in Congress are seeking to cut programs and important funding from the Farm Bill, ultimately stripping us of the tools we need to tackle the climate crisis.

We must do everything we can to defend these programs. Friend, you can make a difference in pushing for a climate-focused Farm Bill by signing our petition >>

As you know, the biggest climate investment of all time — the Inflation Reduction Act — passed last year. Included in it are $20 billion for already-established programs that will allow farmers to engage in climate-smart agricultural practices.

And farmers WANT these programs!

Every year the demand from farmers to participate in the United States Department of Agriculture’s conservation programs far outstrips the funding available.

But some members of Congress are seeking to eliminate, redirect, or in any other way get rid of this crucial funding. We cannot allow them to set us back on the groundbreaking progress we’ve already made.

A progressive Farm Bill is one that would keep the bold, ongoing climate investments we need to protect our food, our water, our ecosystems, and our people.

Add your name to our petition to tell Congress that you’re on the side of a progressive Farm Bill >> [link removed]
