Upcoming Events   NEWS FROM AUBURN, MAINE   HYDRANT FLUSHING IN PROGRESS You may have noticed that the Auburn Water District has been flushing hydrants around town recently. They tell us that they have flushed a total of 560 hydrants and have about 100 left to do. Most of the remaining hydrants are between Gamage, Court and Park Avenue. The map below shows the hydrants yet to be flushed in red. Over the next three days, these hydrants will be flushed between the hours of 8:00AM and 3:00PM. This process may cause your water to become discolored. AWD recommends that customers refrain from running washing machines or dish washers during this time. If you see an AWD truck in your neighborhood, avoid using the water. When the truck leaves, you’re safe to resume usage. If you experience discolored water, run your cold water for ten minutes and it should clear up quickly.
