Hello --

I came to Colorado in the 1980s to work as a geologist -- but after a couple years, I was laid off. I took every scrap of savings in my bank account and took a big risk to open a brewpub in downtown Denver.

There were plenty of days where it looked like we wouldn't make it. But what I knew then, and I still believe now, is that Colorado is a special place -- a place of opportunity and progress for everyone.

It was my honor to serve the people of this great state, first as Mayor of Denver and then as Governor of Colorado. As a public servant, I learned so much about what our state has to offer and what we could accomplish together.

We took on the hard fights. We beat the NRA and became the first purple state to pass universal background checks. We expanded Medicaid for over 400,000 Coloradans and got to near-universal health care coverage.

We brought people together, and we got things done. But that's the exact opposite of what's going on in Washington today.

So, I have to ask: if you love Colorado as much as I do and think it deserves a leader who will roll up their sleeves and get to work for everyday folks, then please chip in $14 now to help us flip this Senate seat.

There's a lot to love about Colorado, folks. From 300 days of sunshine a year to beautiful snowy winters, from Ute Mountain to the Sangre de Cristos to the Pawnee National Grassland, from Palisade peaches to Pueblo chiles to Olathe sweet corn, from our music to our microbreweries, there is something unique here for every Coloradan who calls our state home.

But what I love most about Colorado is the people. We're a state of hard workers who aren't afraid to fight for what's right -- and who can find common ground when it matters most.

I loved Colorado when I was a laid-off geologist. I loved Colorado more every day as a public servant. Now, as I run for Senate, I'm more excited and fired up than I've ever been to get to work for our state.

If you're ready to get to work with me for this beautiful state we both love, then please consider chipping in $14 today to help us build a campaign you can be proud of -- one that will flip this Senate seat and put power back in the hands of the people.
