"It's death by a million cuts." That’s how Ken Rosenberg, a conservation biologist with Road to Recovery, characterized the crisis facing more than half of bird species in the U.S. For birds like the Allen’s Hummingbird, decades of habitat loss and degradation, disturbance from people and pets, and climate change have left them in a worrying decline. And this unique hummingbird is projected to lose up to 90% of its breeding range by the end of the century if we fail to take immediate climate action.

Birds like the Allen’s Hummingbird need your help today to survive. We’re counting on bird lovers like you to join us as annual donors before midnight. Thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, to protect these birds and their habitats. Will you be one of them? An annual gift is a convenient way to provide for birds' future, as it renews automatically each year. ([link removed])

Birds are in crisis:

([link removed])

More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline, with plummeting populations across nearly all habitats.

([link removed])

Most North American birds are under threat, with 389 species at increasing risk of going extinct.

Three billion birds have vanished in less than a human lifetime.

Because birds have been telling us that we must take action on climate—and because we’ve listened—we’re already working to create a safer, more hopeful future for birds and for our planet. Through our nationwide network, we deliver hands-on conservation efforts that are locally focused and guided by region- and bird-specific expertise. And together with bird lovers like you, we’ve demonstrated the positive impact of stewardship and powerful advocacy, helping create a blueprint for protecting vulnerable birds across the range of habitats where we work.

Together, we’re showing that where there’s action, there’s hope. But we can—and must—do more while there’s still time. So please, join us with an annual recurring donation while your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, for birds and their habitats. Hurry—this special offer ends at midnight tonight!
