This is bad politics, John.

Despite doing away with special elections, the GOP is pushing to hold an August special election to increase the threshold for constitutional amendments. The move comes on the heels of Ohio's abortion amendment making the November ballot.

They're counting on low turnout to defeat the people's abortion amendment, but we've got news for them. The last time the GOP tried to pull this off, it backfired, and the people returned the favor, protecting abortion rights by outstanding margins.

The Ohio GOP should take warning, John. While advocates are on the ground in Ohio, ensuring the people are ready for an August special election, our team is preparing to make the GOP feel the repercussions of their attack on our rights.

With the House a toss-up in 2024, this is our chance to turn the tide and take back the House. Then we can pass the Women's Health Protection Act. But to do it, we must make our critical end-of-quarter deadline to ensure we have the resources needed to win in 2024.
