LULAC in partnership with the Small Business Administration and the National
Disability Institute is proud to announce a summer cohort for the 2023 cycle of
the Latina Entrepreneur Academy (LEA) specifically for the disabled community.
LEA was designed to motivate, train and inspire women, especially of
Hispanic/Latino descent, to succeed in their own businesses and this cohort will
allow anyone with a disability, or someone attending on behalf of a person with a
disability, to learn more about what it takes to run a business.

We are looking for two sites to help host this special cohort. Some of the
requirements are:

● Reaching and graduating 25 persons with disabilities from the academy

● Hosting 14 hours of instruction over the course of 8 weeks

● Having the academy be accessible to all disabilities

● Be willing to attend/view any training provided on how to be accessible for
those with disabilities.

Sites will be responsible for sourcing their guest speakers and lesson plans.
LULAC Institute Inc., will help provide topics and templates needed to
successfully run the cohort. Each site will be awarded $7,000 and at the end of
the cohort cycle a business plan competition will be hosted where three winners
will be chosen to receive a financial award for their respective businesses. On
behalf of LULAC Institute Inc., the Small Business Administration, and the
National Disability Institute, we would like to invite you to apply for this
exciting and prestigious funding opportunity. Please do not hesitate to contact
our Program Manager, Priscilla Garcia, at 915-299-9158 or by email at
[email protected] [ [link removed] ] if you have any further
questions.
