I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Herb Jones, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the First Congressional District of Virginia. As we stand on the precipice of change, I am reaching out to you today to join me in building a better future for Virginia—one defined by strength, integrity, and progress.
With a distinguished career of 30 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of colonel, and receiving the Bronze Star for my service in Iraq, I have dedicated my life to protecting our great nation and its values. Now, after 12 years of serving New Kent County as Treasurer, I feel compelled to answer the call once again—this time to serve in the halls of Congress.
Everyone should have the right to decide about their own body, free from government interference. It is a fundamental principle that I strongly uphold. Women's reproductive rights have been under constant threat, and we must protect and expand these rights to ensure that every person has the autonomy to make choices that are best for them and their families. I will fight tirelessly to safeguard access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including contraception, family planning services, and safe and legal abortion. We must support policies that prioritize women's health, respect individual autonomy, and promote equality for all.
As the husband of a lifelong educator, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact teachers have on the lives of their students. Our education system plays a critical role in shaping the future of our country. We must prioritize education by providing ample support to our students at every stage of their academic journey. This means adequately funding our schools, reducing class sizes, and ensuring educators have the necessary resources and support to deliver quality education. Additionally, we must invest in early childhood education, as it sets the foundation for a child's future success. By equipping our students with the tools they need to thrive, we are not only investing in their individual potential but also in the prosperity and strength of our nation.
But I cannot achieve these goals alone. I need your support to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Virginians. Regardless of size, your donation will fuel our campaign and help us reach more voters yearning for positive change. Together, we can reshape the trajectory of our great state and create a Virginia that genuinely represents the values and aspirations of its people.
