Supreme Court Fails to Uphold Constitutional Provision Protecting State Legislatures
- In Tuesday’s Moore v. Harper decision, the U.S. Supreme Court wrongly dismissed the North Carolina Legislature’s claim that its state Supreme Court unlawfully interfered with the Legislature’s authority when the state court substituted its own redistricting plan for the Legislature’s 2021 redistricting plan for the U.S. House seats.
- This ruling allows partisan state supreme courts to reject congressional redistricting plans drafted by state legislatures.
- Justice Clarence Thomas predicts in his dissent that this decision will lead to chaos and confusion and swell federal courts with "quickly evolving, politically charged controversies and federal election disputes.”
- The Supreme Court erred by holding that state courts have the authority to draw up boundaries for congressional districts or change election procedures for federal elections—essentially replacing elected representatives.

Rogue Prosecutors: How Radical Soros Lawyers Are Destroying America's Communities
- Cully Stimson, senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, and Zack Smith, legal fellow at Heritage, published their new book Tuesday, “Rogue Prosecutors: How Radical Soros Lawyers Are Destroying America's Communities.”
- “Rogue Prosecutors” explains the origins, beliefs, playbook, funding, and real-life consequences of the “progressive prosecutor” movement—a group of newly elected prosecutors, their allies, and backers who refuse to prosecute crimes, hold criminals accountable, and seek justice for victims.
- This radical movement funded and conceived by George Soros—and ostensibly designed to “reverse engineer” the criminal justice system as we know it—has succeeded in replacing law-and-order prosecutors with pro-criminal, anti-victim zealots.
- It is the prosecutor’s job to enforce the law zealously and represent the people, not defendants.
