CFPB takes action against mortgage payment processor

The CFPB Tuesday announced an enforcement action against ACI – a nationwide payment processor – for improperly initiating roughly $2.3 billion in unlawful mortgage payment transactions. The bureau said the company’s data handling practices negatively impacted nearly 500,000 homeowners with mortgages serviced by Mr. Cooper (formerly known as Nationstar).

NAFCU announces 2023-2024 board of directors

NAFCU yesterday announced its 2023-2024 board of directors as the association started Engage 2023: NAFCU’s Annual Conference by holding its member-only Annual Business Meeting.

New home sales grew for 3rd consecutive month

New home sales increased 12.2 percent in May to 763,000 annualized units, while sales in April were revised down 3,000 units. Compared to last year, May’s sales were 20 percent higher. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Curt Long analyzed the data in the Macro Data Flash report.
