Support the dog meat ban

THIS IS A GLOBAL ACTION
HELP PASS THE DOG & CAT MEAT BAN IN SEOUL, S. KOREA

Dear John,

Great news! Seoul, the capital of S. Korea, is proposing a bill to end the dog and cat meat trade. The City Council is aiming to have the city of Seoul set the pace for the eradication of dog and cat meat in S. Korea.

Pass the Seoul Dog & Cat Meat Ban

The bill was authored and introduced by City Councilmember Kim Ji-hyang on May 30th, 2023, and will impose a maximum of 5 million won ($3,780 USD) on businesses selling dog and cats for food in the city.

LCA and ALW (Animal Liberation Wave, LCA's S. Korean Sister Organization) are at the forefront working to get this bill passed. On June 12th, ALW facilitated a meeting with two members of the City Council, Kim Ji-hyang and Choi Ho-jung, to release a statement demanding the fast passage of the bill (see photo below).

The Seoul City Council needs global support on this issue.  Email Seoul City Councilmember Kang Seok-joo, Head of Health & Social Affairs Committee, and urge him to pass the proposed dog and cat meat ban.

For the animals,
