Friends - as your Member of Congress, my first responsibility is addressing the very real problems Americans are facing and coming up with real solutions.
It’s a responsibility I take seriously and one of the driving forces behind why I’m running for re-election. Last year, when we got word that the Supreme Court was going to strike down Roe v. Wade and strip away the constitutional right to an abortion, my team and I got to work.
While extremist Republicans were (and still are) focused on stripping away more of our rights and rolling back decades of progress, I was (and still am) focused on protecting people and their privacy. We must do whatever we can to protect people right now while we fight to make abortion a legally protected right across the country.
I introduced the My Body, My Data Act to protect our reproductive and sexual health data and to prevent our personal information from being weaponized against us.
But the fight doesn’t stop there. Far from it.
Right now, I need your help to ensure my campaign has the funds we need to run and win next November. To keep up this fight, I need to build a formidable campaign – and this week, I could really use your support for a few reasons:
1. June 30th is a major fundraising deadline for every candidate running for office (more on that below!) and the optics here really matter.
2. We missed our fundraising goal last month, so we have to push a little harder right now to make up the difference.
3. I have a right-wing opponent who is way too extreme for our district – and I can guarantee he’ll be fundraising this week too.

With all this in mind, we are setting an ambitious goal to raise $3,500 via email by the end of the week so we can show everyone the strength of our campaign. Can you help us? [[link removed]]
When our team closes the books on Friday and submits a report to the FEC for the quarter, that report will be made public. Everyone – from political journalists to the Republicans who want to flip our district red – will see how our campaign is performing and use it to make projections about the race.
This last part is so important. We have a chance to show the rest of the world what we know so well – that our progress and our power as a movement isn’t fleeting – it’s solid and here to stay.
And as a bonus, we can make sure we don’t give my right-wing opponent any motivation in this fight or his donors any hope that more money will help them win next November.
