I'm about to ask you to give my friend, Colin Allred, your personal endorsement for the Senate race in Texas – but first, I want to tell you why he's got mine.

After retiring from the NFL, Colin found his true calling as a civil rights attorney, fighting the increasing attacks on Americans' fundamental right to vote. Then, he took this fight to Congress, where ending racist voter suppression – a reality all too common in GOP-controlled Texas – became one of his top priorities.

Now, here's the biggest challenge Colin is up against: negativity and naysayers.

A lot of people say a Democrat can't win in Texas. But with Colin on the ballot, our chances have never been better. On Day 1 of his campaign, the Cook Political Report increased his chances of winning this race – and now Roll Call has upgraded this seat from solid red to a "Battleground" rating!

On top of that, analysts at CNN and FiveThirtyEight rank Texas as one of Democrats' best pickup opportunities in 2024. And with our slim Senate majority at stake next year, it's an opportunity we cannot afford to waste.

When Colin first ran for office, he unseated an 11-term incumbent to help Democrats flip the House in 2018. That's why I'm so confident he can do it again in the 2024 Senate race – but only if we can keep up the grassroots momentum that will power him to victory.
