Hi John-

Texans are facing sweltering heat and triple digit temperatures across our state this week. And yet, we have been warned by ERCOT to conserve  power because our grid is still not fixed!!

Over two years ago, a winter storm hit Texas causing a massive electric grid failure that killed an estimated 700 Texans and left millions across our state in the dark and cold. The winter storm also caused nearly $300 million in damages for hardworking Texans across our state.

Instead of fixing the damn grid to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again, our radical Republican Governor Greg Abbott did little to nothing to help struggling Texans. Even as he demanded his state legislators come back to Austin, Abbott intentionally left fixing our grid off the agenda — instead focusing on further stripping away voting rights and essential rights.

And on top of that, ultra-rich Energy Transfer Partners founder and executive chairman Kelcy Warren donated a record-setting $1 million dollars to Abbott’s campaign — as a thank you for heavily profiting off the surging natural gas prices during the dangerous winter storm as power plants ran low on supply leaving people across our state to freeze to death in their homes.

Radical Republicans are profiting from your pain. Take a stand! Every dollar matters in our fight to protect our democratic values  →

Republican leaders are putting profit and their rich donors over working to fix broken electric grid for the people of Texas. But Texan lives hold more value than a seven-figure campaign contribution.

We must use our collective might to fight back! By donating to Democrats up and down the ballot in 2024, we can win back the House majority, send Greg Abbott and his cronies a loud message, and restore power to the people all at once.

Can I count on you to donate and help us turn things around in Texas?

- Marc
