Are you tired of drowning (in sea level rise)? Do you feel like you can’t
breathe (polluted air)? Are you ready to leave this toxic relationship (with
fossil fuels)? Then it's time to break free.

This Valentine’s Day, have some fun. Send an ecard asking your friends to break
up with fossil fuels!

Everybody is doing it! Universities and cities are doing it. Whole countries are
doing it. Even Wall Street is doing it. Imagine if we did it too!

Without the billions of dollars annually from investments and subsidies, the
fossil fuel industry would lose its destructive grip. That's why we at the
Chesapeake Climate Action Network are inviting all our loved ones to make the
break this Valentine Day and divest from fossil fuels.

You can spread the LOVE too! Send this Valentine’s Day ecard and invite your
loved ones to break up with dirty energy.

There are so many reasons to make the break. Fossil fuels are killing us.
Greenhouse gas emissions are disrupting weather patterns causing unrelenting
droughts, raging fires and catastrophic storms. Fossil fuels are poisoning our
air and water and destroying our planet.

It’s time to leave this no-good homewrecker behind. This Valentine’s Day,
break-up with fossil fuels by divesting from this destructive industry.

No relationship is healthy when one party lies. But the fossil fuel industries
are habitual liars. It’s a lie to pretend that pipelines don’t leak or that coal
can be clean. Exxon lied about what they knew about climate change for 40 years!
They made billions and we are left holding the bag. The combined impact of
climate change will cost US taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars annually!

This is definitely a one-sided relationship and it's time to end it. Send this
ecard and ask your loved ones to end it too.

The good news is that folks everywhere are breaking up. Divestment is a powerful
social tool that has been proven to work because it affects an industry’s bottom
line. And by reinvesting in clean energy, you’re not only contributing to a
healthy planet but to a healthy pocketbook as well. Renewable sources like solar
and wind are cleaner, easier to sustain over time and some of the fastest
growing industries nationally - in other words, a healthy alternative to a bad
relationship.

So this Valentine’s Day join us at the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. We’re
spreading the love by asking our loved ones to break up with fossil fuels. Send
this ecard and spread the love too!

The Chesapeake Climate Action Network
