Now that the primaries are over, political pundits are talking about the key legislative battlegrounds in Virginia that could decide who controls the General Assembly in November. The Richmond Times-Dispatch called the General Election a “fierce political war.”

Right now, Republicans hold a four-seat advantage in the House of Delegates. Senator Warner knows that with strong grassroots support, we have the opportunity to win these seats (and more) back in the fall. The thing is, Democrats in the Virginia Senate also only hold a four-seat advantage, so it’s safe to say that the GOP will fight tooth and nail to capture those seats and achieve a full takeover of Virginia.
