This week, we’re learning more about the catastrophic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, as the Biden administration holds hearings on the disaster.
Since the toxic Norfolk Southern train derailment occurred earlier this year, grassroots organizing and advocacy from ally elected officials have forced the federal government to address this crisis.
Without Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17), and other members of Congress we helped to elect who hold corporations accountable, we would not have made it this far.
After the derailment, Rep. Deluzio didn’t just offer “thoughts and prayers” to his constituents – he took action. Deluzio was on the ground from day one, mobilizing his constituent services. Then, he authored legislation that would prevent the next such disaster.

Our canvassers kept going, knocking on 40,000 doors in a key local election. This work builds our power and keeps voters engaged, so we’ll be stronger in 2024.
