We are almost halfway through 2023 and Suzan is right: “The chaos continues.”
The Republican Caucus forgets that Congress has a job to do: to pass legislation that supports America’s children and working families. But time and time again, they have let partisan gridlock and special interests get in the way of meaningful progress.
This latest halt when Republicans failed to pass a simple procedural vote has not happened in the House since 2002, and that’s after it took them 15 rounds to select a Speaker and begin the 118th Congress.
To pass meaningful legislation to change lives for working families means it needs to go through the House, the Senate, and the President’s desk. But that won’t happen with Republican extremists and their petty in-fighting.
