Hey --

Here in Colorado, we are no strangers to the profound tragedy of gun violence. Our community has been shaken to its core time and time again, from the Columbine High School massacre and the Aurora movie theater shooting to the shooting at STEM in Highlands Ranch.

As a former Army Ranger, Jason knows that weapons of war do not belong on our streets, universal criminal background checks should be the law of the land, and that we need more gun violence research to better prepare us to respond to this deadly crisis.

That's what Jason has prioritized during his time in Congress -- and that's why gun violence prevention organizations like the Brady Campaign and Giffords have endorsed our campaign. Serious issues like gun violence require us to put aside partisan politics and put what's best for the American people first. And it's about time Mitch McConnell's Senate started doing the same.

On the second anniversary of the Parkland, Florida massacre that took the lives of 17 innocent high school students and staff members, join us in honoring their memory by demanding immediate action on the gun violence prevention measures gathering dust on McConnell's desk.

Time and time again, McConnell's allies in the Senate refuse to show the courage necessary to ignore the special interests and step up to the plate to take action to make our communities safer. We can no longer allow ourselves to live in a country where people are afraid to go to festivals, movies, schools, places of worship, or grocery stores.

Jason won't stop fighting until we get real, common-sense gun reform. He took an oath to defend our democracy, and that includes standing up to outside special interests like the gun lobby who are putting profits ahead of American lives.

We need to keep up the pressure. Add your name next to Jason's to demand the Senate do its job before it's too late.
