I joined Iowa House Democratic Leader Jennifer Konfrst and Iowa Senate Democratic Whip Sarah Trone Garriott this past week to share our concerns about Iowans’ shrinking access to reproductive health care.
We know that Iowans do not want Republican politicians inserting themselves into deeply personal health care decisions. Out-of-touch politicians have no business telling us what to do with our bodies or putting up hoops for us to jump through just to access basic medical care.
(There’s a reason Kim Reynolds won’t put this issue directly to the voters – she knows that the overwhelming majority of Iowans support access to abortion.)
Iowa Democrats trust our friends and neighbors to make the best decision for themselves and their families – without shame, stigma, or interference from politicians.
No matter what trick Republicans try to pull next, you can be sure that Iowa Democrats will put people over politics and guarantee that every person in Iowa has access to health care, no matter where they live or which political party is in control.
One quick reminder: We’re partnering with the Best Practices Institute to offer a virtual VAN training for Iowa Democrats on Thursday, June 29 at 5 PM. The training will cover how to effectively use the tool to activate voters in your community. Using VAN effectively is so important to our organizing efforts. No prior experience is required – RSVP today!
Yours,
Rita Hart
