DEVELOPING — The Washington Post is reporting that, after bringing the country to the brink of default and still falling short of securing ALL of Big Oil’s demands, House Republicans have now introduced a series of drastic Appropriations bills that would slash climate change provisions and investments from the federal clean energy plan. House Republicans are doubling down on their unreasonable demands — and setting up a government shutdown showdown in October.

In addition, they are moving on a package to zero-out green energy tax incentives — a move that could completely collapse the wind, solar, and electric vehicle markets.

Republicans tried to attack these same clean energy investments during the recent default negotiations. To stop them, LCV flooded House and Senate offices with messages. We were on the airwaves. We pressured members in their districts and in the Capitol. We spoke up to protect climate action — and we defended our hard-won progress.
