Dear Friend,

This past weekend, I was given the opportunity to join Immigration Equality to walk the NYC Pride Parade for the first time ever with my partner! Seeing a safe space for so many LGBTQ people was a breath of fresh air.

As a queer immigrant, being able to walk in any Pride parade seemed like a dream that would always be out of reach. In Venezuela, I couldn’t live the life I wanted to live or love who I loved. Now, I feel safe and full of joy being in the U.S.

Watch my video to hear how it felt to walk my first Pride:

Through direct representation, Immigration Equality helped me win asylum. Being granted asylum was one of the happiest moments of my life.

Support LGBTQ Refugees

When I left Venezuela, I came to the United States, where I found Immigration Equality. They supported me with the most wonderful lawyers, secured me asylum, and made me feel safe in a country where I can now be myself. Experiencing the freedom of being LGBTQ in this country inspired me to help other queer immigrants just like me.

Give Out Day is TOMORROW, join my campaign to raise $10,000 for Immigration Equality’s life-saving work. Contribute $100 to support direct legal representation for queer asylum seekers like me.

Today, I am free. Free from the threat of violence and free to be myself. I feel good knowing I can’t be sent back to Venezuela where I will be persecuted for my orientation.

Together, we can help more LGBTQ asylum seekers fulfill their dreams. Join me in my Give OUT Day campaign to raise $10,000.

Will you give $100 today to secure safety and asylum for people like me?

Thank you,
Nelson, Client
