John,
Now this is a step in the right direction: last week, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) nominee Anna Gomez said that she would support key steps to restore net neutrality.1
It is infuriating that for the past three years we haven’t had a functional FCC, and that Biden has failed to fulfill his campaign promise to ensure everyone has access to an open and affordable internet.2 But getting Gomez confirmed is the path forward to victory.
Can you chip in right now to help ensure a functional FCC that will restore net neutrality protections?
Chip in for Net Neutrality
Net neutrality is the principle that everyone should be able to access websites and apps without Internet providers like Comcast & Verizon creating “fast lanes,” censoring content, or blocking certain products.
Restoring net neutrality has been a long and arduous battle. Ajit Pai, Trump’s FCC chair, repealed net neutrality protections in 2017. Without them, the telecom industry gleefully takes advantage of everyday users, increasing prices, censoring content, and ignoring the digital divide.
When the Biden administration nominated a champ to the FCC, it looked like we finally had a fair shot at a people-first FCC. But a telecom smear campaign stalled and then sank Biden’s previous nominee. We can’t let this happen again to Anna Gomez—the Senate must confirm her as the fifth and final commissioner, ASAP.
In the past we’ve organized massive grassroots campaigns to battle for the net and protect Internet access. We can do it again, but it takes resources. Donate now to ensure we’ve got a shot at winning back net neutrality.
We are still fighting for net neutrality—and we won’t stop until we win. Will you keep up the fight with us by making a donation in any amount today?

For the net,
