Shannon Hoffman here, proud Denver DSA member who was also proud to be a DSA endorsed candidate for Denver City Council in our effort to get a renter on council! While we didn't win this race, we did win some other council seats (Shontel Lewis and Sarah Parady), and have more work to do in order to improve the material conditions of people's lives.
An important aspect of building our collective power is connecting with other DSA chapters across the country, learning from each other, and continuing our movements work. DSA National Convention, a biennial event where comrades from across the United States meet to chart the course of our organization and share strategies for building working-class power, is where this takes place! Critically, the National Convention also helps our organization develop future socialist leaders.
The 2023 National Convention in Chicago is coming up and I am excited to be a delegate for Denver DSA to continue this critically important work! But in order to ensure that delegates of all class backgrounds are able to attend we are raising funds to support them. This is a great opportunity for us to practice our values to ensure that each delegate has their needs met for convention. Can you chip in $10?
