In the 2023 legislative session, Colorado Democrats in the General Assembly and Governor Jared Polis had an incredibly productive session filled with some great accomplishments.

Below is just a snapshot of the session. Democrats successfully:

✅ Passed legislation encouraging affordable housing development and protecting renters.

✅ Helped reduce health care costs by lowering premiums and prescription costs, and increasing medical consumer protections.

✅ Invested in our education and workforce with record K-12 funding and funding for apprenticeships and trade school programs.

✅ Passed a slate of gun safety laws including a three-day waiting period, raised the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21 and expanded red flag laws.

✅ Took bold steps to combat the climate crisis by incentivizing electric cars, e-bikes, and clean energy and investing in Colorado’s forestry and wildfire mitigation workforce.

This is just a short list of all the good Colorado Democrats have delivered so far this year – and they’re just getting started in solving our state’s most pressing issues. There is always more work to do to help every Coloradan live a great life in our beautiful state.
