John – Ron DeSantis is attacking democracy in Florida, and it cannot be ignored.

That’s why I held an emergency ad-hoc hearing this week to allow my colleagues to hear directly from Floridians who have been targeted by DeSantis’ fascist, abusive tactics.

Among those Floridians invited to testify were elected officials and public school teacher Brian Covey, who was fired from his job after sharing a video of empty library shelves to show the impact of DeSantis’ book bans.

And get this – after inviting my Republican colleagues to attend, not a single one showed up. They call themselves “freedom fighters,” but when Americans are having their freedoms destroyed by a fascist governor and GOP lawmakers, they’re a no-show.

Well, I know that Democracy is not something we can “agree to disagree” on. That’s why I’m leading the fight in Congress to expose everything that’s going on in Florida.

But that means I’ll be holding these GOP extremists accountable, and they’re going to personally attack me for it. So I need your help to ensure these attacks don’t cost us this seat.
