News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

As I return to the Hill Country after a busy week in Washington, DC, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:

Accountability for chaos
Last week, I called on Congress to refer articles of impeachment for President Joe Biden to committee for his refusal to secure the border and protect the American people.

The federal government exists primarily to defend the United States and is failing to do so. The president’s refusal to follow and enforce our laws at the border cannot be allowed to continue. Too many Americans and migrants have died and continue to die – it’s time to hold this administration accountable.

Accountability for corruption
On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing to question Special Counsel John Durham on his investigation of the origins of the FBI investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. While his report clearly shows countless instances of government officials breaking laws, not one of them have been held accountable. Why not? Watch my exchange with Mr. Durham to hear his answer.

Accountability in foreign policy
Decisions of war and peace, of life and death, are among the most serious any government makes. The framers of our Constitution knew that, and they prudently vested the power to declare war in the legislative branch — the branch of government most accountable to the American people. That’s why I introduced a resolution to reaffirm the Constitution supersedes our treaty with NATO.

Fighting for healthcare freedom
As I told my colleagues on the House floor, patients and doctors should make healthcare decisions, not government czars or healthcare bureaucrats. For too long, the government has been interfering with the American people’s healthcare. That’s why I am taking steps to address our broken healthcare system by restoring free market practices to lower costs and better accessibility.
