My finance team just showed me the numbers and I’ll be honest — our fundraising this quarter has been slower than molasses in January.

While I’m not on the ballot next year, we use funds from this community to support my fellow Democrats in the Senate and throughout Illinois – and with Republicans hot on our heels, we can’t afford to fall short.

Our biggest deadline yet of 2023 is a few days away and we need to pick up the pace.

I set a $20,000 end-of-quarter fundraising goal to make up lost ground and finish June stronger than before. I’m working hard to elect Democrats in Illinois and in crucial races all over the country, but I can’t do it without your support. Will you donate now?

Last quarter, the National Republican Senatorial Committee alone raised $43 million. You’d better believe that we’ll be up against some very deep pockets in the next election. If the Republicans outraise us, a Mitch McConnell-led Senate may not be far behind.

As a Democrat in Senate leadership, I know that our GOP opponents will be looking at our numbers for any sign of weakness. We cannot give them that opportunity.
