Oregon Ranked Choice Voting was presumed dead this legislative session—until it wasn’t. >>

John —

Our movement just scored a major, historic victory for democracy in Oregon.

Oregon is the first state in American history to pass a statewide Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) bill through a state legislature—and it’s already on its way to voters for final approval in November 2024!

This massive development is proof: when we all pitch in, conservatives and progressives, city by city, state by state, we can do huge things like this.

The last few days have been a whirlwind. Take it from Anna Scanlon, a RepresentUs Campaign Advisor who directed our overall efforts in Oregon:

“Oregon Ranked Choice Voting was presumed dead this legislative session—until it wasn’t. Late last week, when Republican Senators unexpectedly returned to the legislature after a 6-week walkout, RCV in Oregon went from more than a long shot to having a real shot at passing. It was a massive, all-hands-on-deck effort—and it paid off with a huge bipartisan victory.”

Our Common Wealth community is crucial to making wins like this possible. Will you join the Common Wealth now with a generous monthly recurring gift?

Our movement turned out for this moment in a huge way. We activated hundreds of volunteers in key State Senate districts to make thousands of calls, send tens of thousands of text messages, and give written testimony to the Oregon state legislature in support of the RCV bill.

Now it will be up to the voters in Oregon in 2024 when final approval of RCV will be on the ballot. You better believe we’ll be there, too.

Celebrate this massive win with us by starting a recurring donation to our Common Wealth fund.

Thank you for all that you do for the pro-democracy movement!
