Homelessness is becoming more visible because it’s rising rapidly in sheer numbers—in California especially. Even well-to-do neighborhoods are seeing the rise of tent cities and crowded, unsanitary conditions.
Our award-winning documentary Beyond Homeless: Finding Hope showcases a timely look at the escalating problem, featuring San Francisco as homelessness’ poster child. It investigates the rising costs correlated with a rising crisis, and showcases an alternative approach that has transformed the homeless problem, Haven for Hope in San Antonio, TX.
This alternative approach places the issue squarely in the hands of the people—not the state.
And it’s working.
We have been hosting screenings of this award-winning film with politically diverse networks across the country. The reception has been humbling, and we think for good reason.
Our new way forward offers hope.
Most recently, Beyond Homeless was screened 3 times at the Phoenix Film Festival, the 21st film festival it has been featured in (winning 6 of them)—and the final screening sold out.
And here at ground zero for homelessness, screenings and panel discussions continue to be hosted by civic groups in both San Francisco and Sacramento across the political spectrum, eager to come together around solutions.
