Hi Friend,
If you’ve been waiting for the 2024 presidential election to shift from a likely rematch between Trump and Biden, bless your heart. But as the weeks, months and polls go by, the odds of a 2020 redux are growing.
So, too, is Americans’ openness to an independent alternative.
A new NBC poll ([link removed] ) , for instance, shows that a combined 44% of registered voters say they’d “definitely” or “probably” consider voting for a third-party or independent candidate if Biden and Trump are the major-party nominees. Unsurprisingly, neither has the support of a majority of registered voters.
Given these findings, you might imagine the Democratic and Republican parties would be mobilizing to broaden their appeal to America’s commonsense majority.
They aren’t, of course. Even worse, the party establishments on both sides are escalating their attacks on No Labels, the one group working to give Americans an affirmative choice in 2024.
The genius of American democracy is that alternatives emerge when our parties and leaders are consistently and stubbornly unresponsive to the people from whom they derive their authority.
At No Labels ([link removed] ) , that’s what we’re working on. We’re fighting to get on states’ presidential ballots in the 2024 election for a potential bipartisan Unity ticket. More choice, greater voice.
We have a pretty simple view of this: It’s a democracy. Elections are about you. Not about them.
Warm regards,
Margaret White
