A.,
Over the past few weeks, as part of our Summer Policy Blitz, we’ve worked together to advance policies that will strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance, combat the Iranian threat, promote peace, and ensure Israel can defend itself, by itself.
And with your help, we’ve already seen significant results.
Below is a

video update from AIPAC Director of Policy and Government Affairs David Gillette outlining the major progress we’ve made.

We still have much more work to do to advance key legislation in the coming weeks, but together, I’m confident that we’ll continue to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship and ensure Israel has the resources needed to keep its people safe.
Be on the lookout after the July 4th Congressional recess for more action alerts to help advance key pro-Israel legislation in the House and Senate.
Thank you,
Tara Brown
Mid-Atlantic Regional Director
RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Strengthening U.S.-Israel Relations
We urged the Senate to come together and support Israel’s entry into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, which would bolster tourism and trade between the two countries.
Last week, 65 senators — including a majority of both Democrats and Republicans in the Senate — signed a letter supporting Israel’s entry into this program by the end of September deadline.
Countering the Iranian Threat
Last week, 249 representatives — including a majority of Democrats and Republicans in the House — and 26 senators sent bipartisan letters to President Biden supporting the implementation of snapback sanction on the Iranian regime and reaffirming that all options must be on the table to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability.
The House also advanced the Solidify Iran Sanctions Act of 2023 (H.R. 3033), an important bipartisan bill to extend sanctions on Iran before they expire.
Promoting Peace
The House passed the Special Envoy for the Abraham Accords Act (H.R. 3099) — by a vote of 413 to 13 — to create a dedicated position in the State Department focused on strengthening and expanding the Abraham Accords.
Keeping Israel Safe
Key committees in the House and Senate in the past two weeks have advanced legislation to fully fund $3.3 billion in U.S. security assistance for Israel and $500 million for lifesaving missile defense programs like Iron Dome.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
