…it makes the dough rise

There’s a saying we love that we wanted to share with you, John.

EMILYs List, the leading organization for electing Democratic pro-choice women that we're proud to have earned an endorsement from, is actually an acronym.

EMILY stands for “early money is like yeast” because it makes the dough rise. It’s a clever way of saying that when a campaign is able to raise money early on, they project strength. It helps power campaigns for the long haul, and it can go a long way in deterring special interests from pouring dark money into the district.

We’ve been thinking about this concept a lot ahead of this week’s FEC filing deadline. When our finances go public at the end of the month, our opponents will use the numbers to make snap judgments about us – and decide how much they want to invest in attacking us in the future.

Let’s prove how strong our campaign really is, John!

Chip in $3 now to help us make the dough rise ahead of the rapidly approaching filing deadline on Friday. Remember: CA-47 is a critical district for retaking the House majority.
