We need more leaders who will fight back against hateful, transphobic and homophobic legislation.
Friend,
This month marks Pride Month, and to help uplift, celebrate, and support the LGBTQ+ community, the Biden Administration hosted a picnic and concert welcoming LGBTQ+ people and allies.
During the celebration, President Biden spoke and said, “When a person can be married in the morning but thrown out of a restaurant for being gay in the afternoon, something is still very wrong in America.” And we fully agree. That’s why Dem AGs are determined to stop Republicans from pushing hateful and discriminatory policies against the LGBTQ+ community — but they can’t do it without support from people like you.
According to the ACLU, there have been more than 400 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in state legislatures across the country this year alone. Let that number sink in for a second. That’s more bills than there are days in one year — and that’s disgusting.
From Ron DeSantis’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida, to banning books that share LGBTQ+ stories, it’s no exaggeration to say that the LGBTQ+ community is under attack right now. Republicans are threatening children, teachers, and students – the fabric of our communities.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
