Hello again!
In our last message, we had shared our current and upcoming services that are available to you and the general public. Today, I would like for you to get to know us a bit better.
At the root of every non-profit is a mission, and we are no different. Vote Smart's mission is to provide free, factual, and unbiased information on candidates and elected officials to ALL Americans.
To protect our mission, we pledge to never accept money from special interest groups. We refuse to be swayed by big business and flashy finance. While we pride ourselves on this integrity, we have also experienced the downside of it. Being selective of who we accept money from means we must rely solely on contributions from individuals across the country.
To keep moving forward, we need your help.
As you can imagine, our expenses are high. It costs $3,000 per day to keep Vote Smart up and running so we can provide citizens with access to the facts. Most contributions are from generous citizens who have believed in our mission for years.
I’ll leave it to our members to convince you to join us today in this mission:
"This group, is the best. They use Congressional Record and Official Sources only...No opinion, no speculation, draw your own conclusions...they are great. Just a bunch of bi-partisan, policy wonks, beavering out the facts for easy access. Totally Non-Profit" - Rebecca
"Excellent source of non-partisan biased info, regardless of what side you're on" - Pamela
"I've used Vote Smart for a number of years and have always been greatly impressed by your extensive research in the candidates. Your website makes it much easier to become educated on where the candidates stand on issues important to me." - Marie
"Checking out Votesmart is more useful than watching debates and being inundated with advertising." - Laura
With any tax-deductible donation, big or small, you will become a Vote Smart member, gaining perks such as receiving brand new material Vote Smart releases, gaining early access to certain tools we release, having a say in how Vote Smart allocates funds, and more!
