Hi friend, Funding for crucial environmental programs has been drastically slashed under previous anti-environment-controlled legislatures.
As a result, green spaces are limited in communities that need them most. Black and brown communities continue to experience poor air quality at greater rates and a third of our rivers and streams are too polluted for fishing, swimming, and every other kind of aquatic recreation.
We cannot stand idly by as our natural resources are neglected and our communities are put in danger, especially when we finally have the opportunity to make the necessary investments now that the State House is in pro-environment hands.
In the 2023-2024 budget, we are calling on the General Assembly to increase funding for environmental agencies so that they can monitor Big Polluters and ensure our communities have safe drinking water, access to parks, and clean air. |
