john, In a moment, I'm going to ask you to contribute to my campaign before our end-of-quarter deadline, but first, I want to let you know why I chose to run for Congress. When I was sixteen years old, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I always had a love for science (here I am winning an academic decathlon when I was in high school!), and my experience managing my diabetes and all the time I spent in doctors’ offices helped lead me to a career as a pediatrician. For sixteen years, I served thousands of families in Issaquah as a pediatrician. I loved my patients and my work. Running for office was never in my "life plan." Throughout my career, I saw firsthand how important access to quality, affordable health care was for my patients. That's why when my own representative voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, that was the final straw for me.So, I packed up my office and left the job I love to run for Congress. I had a sense that I could do more good for more children and families in Washington's 8th District from a seat in the House of Representatives than I ever could in the four walls of my exam room. Thanks to grassroots supporters like you, we flipped Washington's 8th District blue for the first time ever in 2018 and kept it blue in 2020 and 2022 after hard-fought races. Since coming to Congress in 2019, I have been focused on fighting for the issues that matter most to you, me, and all the families I served as a pediatrician. But we’re in for another tough race. National Republicans already named me a top target for 2024, and I’m counting on grassroots supporters like you to help me keep WA-08 blue. Before our FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline, will you chip in $5, $25, or whatever you can afford to help me keep this seat blue and continue making progress for the 8th District? Thank you, Kim Rep. Kim Schrier is a doctor, scientist, and mom, fighting for Washington's 8th District in Congress. This is one of the most competitive districts in the country, so we need your help to keep Kim in Congress. Chip in now to help protect Kim's seat in 2024.
