Dear John,
Every Iranian-American family has their immigration story of how we came to call America our home.
That's why NIAC has always made protecting fair and equitable immigration a top priority – from protecting Iranian Americans against discrimination at the border, to securing multiple-entry visas for Iranian students, to defeating travel bans and racist policies aimed at preventing our loved ones in Iran from coming to the U.S.
That is why we need your support today: to ensure we can continue fighting for our community and making a major impact on the immigration policies that affect all of us.

Your support has helped us make a major impact on immigration. Some of our accomplishments from just the past few years include:
In 2019, when legislation was moving swiftly through Congress to increase the green card wait time for Iranians to decades – NIAC blocked the bill before it was too late.
In 2020, when dozens of Iranian Americans – including young children – were detained at a border crossing into Washington state – NIAC pressed for answers and secured a full investigation into the incident to ensure it never happened again.
In 2021, after fighting in the courts, the media, and on Capitol Hill to stop Trump's racist Travel Ban that overwhelmingly targeted Iranians – NIAC secured a written promise from Joe Biden to terminate the ban on day one of his presidency.
And in 2022, as protests erupted in Iran, NIAC urged the U.S. to expand and accelerate the refugee and visa process for Iranians – efforts that are finally beginning to bear fruit.

But to continue doing this work, we need to hit our fundraising goal before the end of the month. Today I am asking for your support: will you make a contribution to directly support our ongoing work to protect our community's rights for equitable immigration policies?
