The end of this week marks our quarterly fundraising deadline with the FEC.
We're pacing a bit behind where we need to be and could use some help closing the gap. But first, we want to explain why Friday's deadline is much more important than usual.
As you know, we’re legally required to report our fundraising numbers to FEC after the deadline hits. Shortly after, our numbers will go public and this will be the first time our numbers are compared side-by-side against our new Republican opponent.
Now that we officially have a race in IL-17, our fundraising performance will be an important signal of strength. The last thing we need is to show weakness as a new opponent enters the race. Unfortunately, we're coming up short of where we should be at this point and could use some help picking up the pace.
So we need to ask:
Will you please contribute $3 to Eric Sorensen's re-election effort before our FEC fundraising deadline hits? Whatever you can give before the deadline will go a long way.
