Breaking news, folks: The Supreme Court just ruled that Louisiana’s congressional map must be redrawn to more fairly represent Black Louisianans.
This is another huge win for our democracy — if you remember, earlier this month Alabama’s congressional map was also struck down after violating parts of the Voting Rights Act , and today’s decision is another example of the court holding up the landmark provisions that protect against racial discrimination.
But make no mistake, this isn’t just something the Supreme Court did on a whim — this decision comes after months of organizing to expose these racially biased congressional maps — and local activists who are on the front lines of these efforts depend on grassroots support.
Can you join me in celebrating another big win by pitching into the Groundwork Project today? Your donation will help us continue supporting hyperlocal organizing in states where the fights for our fair democracy and voting rights are ongoing. [[link removed]]
